Dates
Wednesday, June 11 through Sunday, June 15, 2008

Lodging
The Microtel in Robbinsville is blocked for the nights of the 11th through 15th. The rooms are clean and the hotel is extremely motorcyclist friendly. This is same place we met for the 2006 & 2007 ZX6E.net GapFest gatherings. Free continental breakfasts, no pool.

111 Rodney Orr Bypass
Robbinsville, NC 28771
Call This Number = 828-479-6772 (the toll free number on the website can't be used for reserving a blocked room)

Here's what we have blocked off:
8 singles, nonsmoking = $58.46 / $68.46
2 singles, smoking = $58.46 / $68.46
17 doubles, nonsmoking = $67.46 / $77.46
2 doubles, smoking = $67.46 / $77.46
2 suites, nonsmoking = $76.46 / $86.46

The rates will be slightly higher for weekend rates over week day rates. Here is an example for those who have not joined us in the past:
You stay in a single room with one double bed on Wed + Thurs + Fri + Sat, the cost breakdown would be approximately 58.46 + 58.46 + 68.46 + 68.46 (plus taxes).

We have stopped short of reserving the whole hotel; but have about 80% of it blocked off (they only have 50 rooms). The suites could be best used by attendees who happen to bring a large family or a multi-group, so unless you need that kind of space/comfort, please don't reserve the suites unless they are the only rooms available. Although I am not sure if the suites have ever been reserved by our group.

Reservations
The quoted rates will be for (Wed & Thurs/Fri & Sat). Microtel gave us the corporate price since we will have a rather large group of members attend. To reserve rooms in our block you must state that you are part of the 'ZX6E.net Forum' group. All rooms not reserved by April 30, 2008 will be released.

Same as in previous years, the meeting room has been reserved for our use on Friday & Saturday evenings.

Now, pick up the phone and call - operators are standing by!

As members begin to reserve and plan, a 2008 Attendance List thread will be started so we know who to expect at our 3rd annual Gap Fest 2008.

Added Notes:
Crystal works at the Philips Motel Restaurant (not sure what the name of it is). They currently served breakfast and lunch, but should be serving dinner in the coming months and during our visit.

Freda still works at Microtel...and regardless of what she does, we are going to kill her with kindness.

We're taking the Exploder this year so you and Kristin could ride in the back to Lubbock and fly out from there.

Hell, I'll be taking a harbor freight trailer so you could ride to Lubbock and trailer it from there.

I'm just sayin'

Of course we'll probably get three miles to the gallon laughing.gif

Why would I go where there's more snow than what I already have to deal with? laughing.gif Besides, according to Wikipedia, Canada has 9,970,610 km2 of land while the US has 9,629,091 km2, so the area is about the same, they just divided it up into bigger plots than they did here.

So if you work it out, with populations, the US has .03 km(2) for each person, while Canada has .30 km(2).

Dude, that is 10 times the land for each citizen.

Even if polar bears occupy most of it, that is not bad.

Would be awsome for some of you Cali folk could make it out this year.

ANd the long ride is different when your heading somewhere new. It's an adventure. You would have a blast!
